Our Firm works exclusively with local skilled artisans and master craftsmen within our community to re-purpose existing furniture, create unique works of art, and effectively use teamwork to curate a cohesive space which is stunning yet livable, with attention to every detail.




Kourosh Babaeian began his career in Westlake Village, designing luxury interiors for family and friends.  After many years of learning and creating in one of Los Angeles' most exclusive suburbs, he moved to the city and continued his education at the University of California Los Angeles, where he attained his Bachelor of Arts and his Certificate of Interior Design. Kourosh then received his Masters of Interior Architecture at UCLA and Cal Poly. Since 2006, Kourosh has worked on countless Interior Design projects on both the East and West Coast. He currently is working on projects primarily in and around the West Los Angeles area.



Graduating from UCI with a Bachelor degree in Social Ecology, Dorene decided to go back to school and pursue her interest in Interior Design. Shortly after her switch, Dorene graduated from the Interior Design Institute where she began her career in Hospitality Design in Orange County. Working in hospitality for 5 years, Dorene moved to Los Angeles to start her family and worked free lance for the Hofman Hostility Group for 15 years. With all her past experience under her belt, Dorene has joined our team to manage the daily operations for the office and manages all of the projects we work on. 



Auria Williams' passion for design began young while being mentored by her grandmother Nancy Linn, a prominent California Designer and Builder. Auria pursued her dream by studying at the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, where she received her Interior Design Certificate. Auria worked and managed a high end furniture/ antique showroom for 5 years prior to starting with Black Orchid Design. 


Raylene Piera

Growing up in Los Angeles,  Raylene has always been inspired by the art and design of the city. After graduating Santa Monica College with a certificate in Interior Design, she knew she had found a career fit for her.  Raylene worked as a Design Assistant for a year util she decided to  continued her studies at UCLA's extension program. Now, Raylene plays a critical part in the design process for our office. 



Born and raised in Southern California, Lily has developed a natural attraction to the 'California Casual 'design style with pops of color to represent her family's Miami roots. Lily recently graduated from Chapman University with a Major in Communication and a Minor in Leadership. Before joining the Black Orchid team, Lily worked as a Lead Design Associate for a Los Angeles staging company for over a year and got her certificate in Sketch Up from the UCLA extension program. She quickly fell in love with the design process and has now decided to pursue her passion for interior design with us!
