Black Orchid prides itself in its rich Los Angeles roots, and maintains a commitment to sustainable living by not only designing for today, but looking ahead to the future. Black Orchid crafts all hand-made furniture locally, right here in Los Angeles. Our Firm works exclusively with local skilled artisans and master craftsmen within our community to re-purpose existing furniture, create unique works of art, and effectively use teamwork to curate a cohesive space which is stunning yet livable, with attention to every detail.
Kourosh Babaeian began his career in Westlake Village, designing luxury interiors for family and friends. After many years of learning and creating in one of Los Angeles' most exclusive suburbs, he moved to the city and continued his education at the University of California Los Angeles, where he attained his Bachelor of Arts and his Certificate of Interior Design. Kourosh then received his Masters of Interior Architecture at UCLA and Cal Poly. Since 2006, Kourosh has worked on countless Interior Design projects on both the East and West Coast. He currently is working on projects primarily in and around the West Los Angeles area.
Auria Williams' passion for design began young while being mentored by her grandmother Nancy Linn, a prominent Californian Designer & Builder. Auria pursued her dream by studying at the Interior Designers Institute in Newport Beach, where she received her Interior Design Certificate. Auria worked and managed a high end furniture/antique showroom for five years prior to starting with Black Orchid Design. She now plays a crucial role in Black Orchid's design and management process.
Lauren Myers is new to the LA area. After graduating from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and having a career in journalism and marketing, Lauren has decided to follow her passion for design and fashion by joining the University of California Los Angeles' Architecture and Interior Design Program and the Black Orchid Team. Lauren's role is integral in our firm's media and communications.
